Emerging Voices

During 2011 fbfe and the RE Council for England and Wales worked with colleges in London and the North West to produce curriculum materials to support the implementation of the SMSC guidance in both accredited and enrichment learning activities.  Please follow this link, where you will find how four colleges are implementing SMSC into their college.

Good Inter Faith Relations on Campus: A toolkit for students’ unions

NUS have produced Good Inter Faith Relations on Campus: A toolkit for students’ unions, as part of their Student Inter Faith Project (2009-2011). Each students' union will receive a hard copy of the toolkit in the next week or so. In the meantime you can download a copy of the toolkit here (http://www.nusconnect.org.uk/news/article/faith/1834/).

This toolkit has been written as a source of support and guidance to help students’ unions:

The toolkit provides a series of case studies and exercises to illustrate effective models of engagement with faith groups; provide inspiration for your own events and projects; and help you to organise these. We have encouraged officers to work with you and the college chaplain to think through how they can make this a part of their unions work using the toolkit as a guide. To support you in your journey to building good inter faith relations at your college, the Student Interfaith Coordinator, Kat Luckock (kat.luckock@nus.org.uk) is available to support you with further information as required. NUS and fbfe will also be organising a conference-style training event for staff, chaplains and students’ union officers in colleges later in the summer (further details to follow).
