Historically, fbfe convenes regional forums to support colleges in their endeavour to ensure staff and students are engaging with matters of faith and belief.
fbfe forums can cover the following:
•Controversial issues and how to handle them
•Learner voice: we aim to have learners attend to offer perspective and insight
•Equalities: the faith and belief protected characteristic and its impact on college life
•Ofsted: what is required from a faith and belief perspective?
FE Chaplaincy: planning, recruiting, appointing, training, developing and growing it
•Curriculum: embedding faith and belief across provision
•Community relations: thinking about college cohesion and external partnerships
•Opportunities for open discussion
•Staff development and training
SMSC development: how might your institution do it better
•Networking with colleagues across the region
Because of the wide range in topics we encourage colleges to consider sending the ‘right’ person which could be more than one. We welcome multiple attendants from institutions. This meeting is normally attended by Student Services, Curriculum Managers, Chaplains of all faiths from collleges or within the community, Equality and Diversity Managers, Curriculum Managers and Assistant Principals.
A detailed agenda for the forthcoming forum will be made available. Directions and parking arrangements will be available once you have booked on; we require bookings in advance for catering purposes.
